Mettler Athletic Distance Running Camp

July 16–20 (Grades 5–8)
July 23–27 (Grades 9–12)

Go the distance this summer with Mettler’s Distance Running Camp. This five session camp meets each morning from 7–9am and will train runners through demonstrations, warm-ups, main runs, drills, games, and presentations. This camp is taught by an experienced staff and utilizes cutting-edge technologies.

Camp Goals:

  • Teach proper warm-up and running techniques
  • Educate runners on different types of training/workouts
  • Provide a fun atmosphere where campers can meet and train with other area runners
  • Educate athletes on supplemental aspects of distance running (strength training, nutrition, injury prevention, etc.)

Camp Features:

  • Basics on running form
  • Speed/form drills
  • Dynamic warm-up techniques
  • Strength/core training
  • Injury prevention
  • Race strategy
  • Cross Training

Campers will be led through a developmentally appropriate workout each day. We will discuss and practice different types of workouts including:

  • Hill training
  • Fartlek
  • Long run
  • Threshold run
  • Recovery run

The camp will also feature a presentation on Sports Nutrition by one of our Registered Dietitians. All campers will receive a Mettler Athletic Distance Running Camp t-shirt, a Mettler Athletic water bottle, and water/Gatorade each day.
