Are you eyeing that 5K? Chicago Marathon calling your name? Mettler Athletic will match you with running partners and develop a personalized training program. Whether you’re setting a personal record or competing at the highest levels, we’ll help you cross the finish line. At Mettler, there’s no reason to run alone.

Pre-season Cross Country

Need to gain an edge before your junior high or high school cross country season? Our preseason cross country program is designed to prepare runners for the rigors of the cross country season. The twice weekly class focuses on injury resistance, running-specific strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, core strength and running form. The five-week program can be combined with our distance running camp. Pre-season starts June 24th, 8am (grades 5–8) and June 30, 5pm (grades 9–12). Second Annual Distance Running Camp

This camp will prepare young runners both physically and mentally for the upcoming cross country season. Andy Derks, Mettler Athletic's Running and Racing coordinator, will direct the camp. Each day, runners will warm up, complete running and mobility drill and join us for a work out. Guest speakers appear daily. Also, this year, runners will have their form analyzed using our Dartfish video analysis system. Camp dates are July 21–25 (5–8 grades meet 7–9am; grades 9–12 meet 8:30–10:30am). Whole Life Marathon Training

Whether this is your first half or full marathon or you’re a seasoned veteran Mettler Athletic’s Whole Life Marathon Training can help you move to the next level.

Veteran marathoner Andy Derks developed this multifaceted, personalized camp to help every runner meet his or her goals. Each runner will receive an individualized 16-week training program. The program, which takes into account each athlete’s experience and goals, includes a running and cross training regimen. Throughout the program, Andy will counsel runners through e-coaching to offer tips, monitor progress, and answer questions.

Runners may choose different fall races and do most of their training on their own. Every Tuesday, runners will meet for the Total Runner for Marathon Training class, which is included in the training program and offers running-specific athleticism drills. Weekly yoga classes, which are included in the training program, allow runners to build flexibility and a strong core. Two nutrition classes offer runners meal-planning suggestions to fuel their performance. Two simulation runs, complete with Gatorade and mile markers, will help you shake pre-race jitters. Total Runner

Tired of the tedium? Join us for Total Runner, a weekly class that focuses on athleticism drills designed for runners who want to excel at any distance. The class also stresses injury prevention. You’ll increase your flexibility, gain strength, correct your running form, and improve your balance. Total Runner for Marathon Training offers drills specific to those training for full and half marathons. Begins June 17th. Must be enrolled in Whole Life Marathon Training program.

Running Coach
Are you ready to take your training to the next level? Whether you’re a veteran runner looking to improve your time, a novice just getting started, or a student looking to gain an edge in your off-season, we have a coaching package that is right for you! Our two training plans allow you to choose from 6, 12, or 18 week training schedules. Train with a partner with our Duet option, and the second runner receives half-off.

eCoach for Runners
Training for that upcoming 5K or 10K? Want to break that seven-minute mile? Maybe you don’t live in the area or don’t have much time to make it into a gym. eCoach is the perfect plan for you!

Receive coaching plans and advice without leaving your desk, no matter where you are! Mettler’s Running Coach will customize a 3-month workout plan to suit your needs. Complete with challenging workouts, lifting exercises, and running tips eCoach will give you a solid plan for meeting your running goals!
